It's perfectly okay, my friend... :)

You're right, the rolls certainly do sound like mint rolls, but they're often confused and is why I tried to explain. No harm, no foul. As for the nickels, when you can post photos, please do. It's been a little while now since I've had an android phone, but I can try to help whenever you're ready. It's fairly simple to upload photos to the forum though. See the "upload a file" button below where you write your post? If using the phone to browse the forum, clicking there will open up (or allow access to) the phones on your phone, allowing you to choose whatever one you wish to post.

As for doubled dies, below is an excellent link that can teach you a great deal. Take a look around the site whenever you have some free time. It can be very interesting.

If you've any questions though, please don't hesitate to start a thread and ask. I realize some of us can sometimes come off as harsh, but I do think most genuinely care. Unfortunately, what may be a surprising number of people come here to play games (in one way or another) and is usually the cause of said harshness. Everyone has to start somewhere, and every one of us can learn something from every person we run into, so there's no shame in asking; that's how we learn. :)

I'm with you. I think this fella is full of it! Gets rolls and seeds them with silver to open them on camera so he gets tons of views/likes in hopes of making money from Youtube. Actually has a video where he asks people to "donate" money to him so he can fund his trip from bank to bank. Get a respectable job! Even if it's at a fast food joint.

Nice score for Seattle / Tacoma, but more likely Olympia, Lakeland or Everett. Ever get to Bellingham?

Gotta admire the initiative. But to coin "Bill and Ted" -- BOGUS!!

Yep you right, getting the phone and computer to phase in with each other was the hard part and I will most definitely remember the offer for sure; now with this new thingy ma bob, I should not have all the confusion. The camera takes them in what is called a jpeg, which simplifies things still more, my phone does RAW..... see now I sound a bit smarter, BUT I do not have any idea of what any of that means.... Will go to the site you mentioned, thank you. Now that I have your eye; have you got any suggestions as to those rolls I mentioned? And where is it I might investigate the grade thing for MS please?

I live in the same metro area as the OP. I have searched for years and have never had the "luck" he has had. A few finds hear and there but... A little hard to believe. In one of his videos he is filming himself driving across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. Not a safe thing to do, should be watching the road!

We've addressed the filming while driving thing many times. Our little hero says it's perfectly safe, and at the wise old age of 16 (or 17, or maybe it's 38), he of course knows all....

One can only hope if he causes an accident, no innocent parties will be hurt.

Pop70, be wary of all of the haters on this forum towards Silver Searcher. These haters, by and large, are ad hominem hypocrites. They will knock him for spelling "halves" as "halfs" without mentioning it to anyone else who makes this mistake. Take this thread, for example: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/odds-of-finding-silver-halfs.289685/. Where is all of the correcting on there towards the OP? They will go after Silver Searcher for the slightest superficial mistake to try and take him down while ignoring the same thing with everyone else.

A lot of users on this forum report great half dollar roll finds: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/finally-found-half-rolls.291476/. Here is an especially great one from January: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/the-best-2-boxes-of-halves-ever-reported.289904/. There is no bashing, no hate or second guessing towards these other members but because Silver Searcher chooses to enthusiastically share his finds through motion picture instead of traditional (and quite frankly, boring, still photographs), he is lambasted and chastised for it.

As for one of the members who went out of their way to sully Silver Searcher's reputation by trying to give you a heads up and turn you away and against Silver Searcher, post #74 from this thread sums up this individual quite well: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/bad-experiences-with-dealers.292991/page-4#post-2681874.

Well thank you for sound advice, and good advice. Been around for a bit, too long actually. Till this here hobby got my real attention, my brain was like a handful of feathers put adrift in the wind .... just went everywhere. That being said I have learned to take little heed of the hidden innuendos, old timers saying if you will, an empty bucket makes a lot of noise .... can't believe I said that for it will more than likely be the nastiest thing I will ever post. Excuse that please; this first cup of coffee has not yet kicked in.
As for banks and silver, well I know of the best ones, (that is pretty bold huh?) The soil bank with a metal detector, would venture a guess here and say for the most part the more you dig, the more you find. A lonnngg time ago, I found a coin, of no great value, that was probably one of only a few left in existence; got everybody's curiosity up now :) .... Found an old, what I presume, doctors bag. Had been out in the dessert for who knows how long, and the winds had given light to a corner of the bag (people out West know what it is I am talking about) back to the tail You could tell by what little contents where still within there was the corner of an envelope, and within that corner there was a coin. :) so looked of course, and WOW a gold coin at that. Happy happy happy ... my first. Now I don't normally get rid of most of the things I have found so didn't this one either. Shortening the story, which I am sure you all are grateful for, I had picked up a copy of the numismatic news on a trip to the library just to look; several years later. There was an article with in that caught my eye; soooooo went home, dug out this little gem and sure enough I had one. :) The article was about a Nichol that a fellow out east had plated with gold, would go into a business, (normally a "tavern" was the wording) toss this Nichol down order a beer, gather his change and leave .... that's pretty good really, get a beer and 4.95 in change for 5 cents. Latter that year of production, the mint started putting the word cents on the coin plus some stars if I remember correctly. The story does not end there as far as the coinage; the law did chase him down, and he did go to court on a counterfeiting charge, but was found not guilty. Why? The man could not speak, so he never deliberately committed fraud. (good attorney)... What ever happened to that coin, I will never know, but it is nifty to learn of some history on this. I am fairly sure that the article can be found in the vaults of the news but do not know for sure, very interesting article though. Sure wish I had it today. At the time was more of a let down for not having found a gold coin than anything else. Not to certain but I think the year of issue was/may have been in the 60's then again 80's sorry just not positive there, do know that in the red book it had stated something like with stars as a second entry for that date. Thought I would share.

Wow! A hit and run post from a new member who has contributed nothing here. Very impressive.

It is your call if you're willing to defend someone who comes to an educational forum and knowingly misleads, but it places you on the same level. Do tell me though: what kind of person defends the indefensible? What kind of person defends a kid who finds it more important to make stupid videos while driving on roads shared by children and families? Are you going to defend him after he hurts or, God forbid, kills someone? What kind of person defends a kid who posts supposedly educational videos yet cannot be bothered to know, understand, research, or even verify the information within? Unlike you, a person I cannot recall seeing ever go out of his way to genuinely help another, some of us truly care about those new to this hobby and the damage BS can and does cause it as a whole. Is @jensenbay lying when he says he's from the same area as silversearcher and has never experienced such wonderful finds? Is everyone else who searches as much and more than your lil buddy, and "finds" nowhere near as much as he claims to, are they lying as well? No one said nor suggested that great finds do not happen. Of course they do, but that's not what we have here, is it? It's mind boggling that you're really going to sit here and defend someone whose "educational video" teaches others to look "under the date" for the "VBD" that was "later added" to the coin. Seriously, how long would it have taken for him to verify his info? I just tried and it took less than a minute, yet all he did was to go to an already horrible website, used the poor information presented, and made uneducated assumptions, not because he genuinely cares, but did so in his never-ending scream for attention. Do I need to go on?

Of course it hasn't dawned on you that we "haters" may be a little hard on him in the hopes that he straightens out, has it? The very gentleman you posted this crap to appears to be looking for correct and educated information, but apparently you'd rather have him believe and follow nonsense as opposed to search out facts. You're no better than silversearcher. In fact, why don't you be honest with Pops? Come on, now. Tell him how you'd rather see him waste his time than actually learn. If he wants to follow and listen to silversearcher, it's his call, but if he does and is in any way harmed by it, I do hope you're equally as quick to make him whole as you are to defend your buddy.

You're talking about what is commonly referred to as a "racketeer nickel". Just google it.

The hit and run poster is defending Silver Searcher, but Silver Searcher doesn't care about this forum or numismatics. Maybe he really does roll hunt, but his priorities are his inane You Tube videos. This forum (and others) are just outlets he is exploiting for his own ends.
The fact is his videos are full of misinformation.
    And most likely somewhat fictitious.

Jensen Bay is correct - Silver Searcher is from Seattle/Tacoma. I found out from his detailed Instagram account that is searchable through Google. Don't know where a 20 year old would get a Beemer from.

I think you have too much time on your hands to write this, maybe you should go to your local bank and get some halves
