so I asked my friend if I could search through his coins and traded two pennies for my one penny lol. Here is where I find if it's a pretty penny because I heard something's about repunched mint marks but know nothing about it. Is this what I am looking at or is this a grease filled die? Because I thought mint marks are not pressed by machines? Please correct me if I am wrong. Did my best on my pictures IMG_0304.JPG IMG_0303.JPG

    You just lost a Cent!
What you have is a Copper coated Zinc Cent. That what you see is a classic case if a plating bubble on the Mint Mark. Underneath is what is the start of Zinc Rot :yack:... Not a Mint Error

I want to share this webpage with you - http://www.error-ref.com/zinc-deterioration-on-lincoln-cents/

Lol haha Thank you I can also see how the copper is very green too so I can see how the corrosion started. Probably was under water for a good time lol thanks paddyman. You are always so helpful. I wish I could throw you a few rolls of pennies to look through for all your help

Is this right? Last mint marks that were hand punched were 1991?
