I think if something like this were legit, it would be a known thing long before 80 years has gone by. Still need to see photos of both sides.
@TheHeir Good morning. It's Monday. You stated that you would post a picture of the Obverse on Sunday Please post the Obverse and several new pictures of the Reverse side at different angles. That way we can see it better
I assume we will never see a photo of the obverse. But in a practical matter this coin does not exist (except for a manufactured fake) and here is why. If this coin was real, that means one of the reverse dies was missing all of the other information. If it had been discovered early and taken out of production (and the coins that were produced, there has to be a record of it as the mint was very strict about those things, they have to "account" for all the money produced/ destroyed.) Let's say this die escaped detection. That means 100,000- 200,000 (however many coins they get out of a die) were produced, and have been in circulation for 83 years and this is the very first one that has ever come to light. No one has ever noticed anything wrong with any of their steel cents. Impossible.
I agree. I also believe the original image was photoshopped This new member stated he was going to provide new pictures this past Sunday and hasn't done so. Seems suspicious.
