The pics are not very good but looking at the features, I'd say phony! Your best friend is your intuition, when in doubt, call your mom, It's Mother's Day you know!

The photos are not very good but it doesn’t look like it to me. Ask yourself, how much do you trust the person that had this up for trade?

That's a typical Chinese fake, the obverse bust is just all wrong.

I have one of those fakes dated 1799. I knew it was a fake and I paid fake price. Denticles seem to be reversed from OP's "coin".

Not even a good fake. Blatantly obvious. BAD!

Still fake, but better quality fake, anyway. Still not entirely deceptive enough to be dangerous, but good enough as a decent replica, if a replica is what you wanted.

My 1799 is the real deal. Of course I paid accordingly.

Fake without a doubt. here is my 1800, a bit worn, but real:

The Bust of Liberty is all wrong. It looks like one from a silver round or a fake 1804 “reasonable facsimile” dollar. I’ll post picture of an 1800 dollar tomorrow.

The piece in the OP looks a lot like this thing. If Iwere Ms. Liberty, I would be unhappy to appear on this on this thing too. Look at the frown.

Back before the Chinese counterfeiters perfected their craft and got truly dangerous! :yack:
