Whether it is or not. It served it's purpose.;) I can't believe I haven't posted it before now!

I agree with just a penny. Looks like damage...can we see a picture of the edge of the coin where one of the "ripples" are?

Sorry it took me so long! My dog was sick and I had to sit out with her.:hungover: 20170317_003253-1.jpg 20170317_003349-1.jpg 20170317_003427-1.jpg 20170317_003514-1.jpg 20170317_003538-1.jpg 20170317_003614-1.jpg 20170317_003253.jpg

No problem. I got 3 dogs myself...been there.

You can see the damage in the rim as well. Reeds are slightly wider and flatter in your picture. Definite PMD.

I agree with PMD - Post Mint Damage :yack:
@Leahred1967 - Many times when a person new to coin collecting sees something strange and/or different, the first thing that is assumed is that it is some type of Mint Error. That is why it is good to ask the questions and get the answers. After some time and knowledge AND a better understanding of the Minting process, you will be able to tell the difference.

    Peace :angelic:
