Current bid, $865. What am I missing? Fake collusion bidders? I don't care if it has a Presidential gold seal, this coin in MS 63 has a retail price of $190! (But!! We are assured it's been safe kept in a smoke free home! )

What makes me smile is that I'm probably bidding against some of my Coin Talk brethren at times. Rest assured, this one is ALL YOURS!

 

Can ANYONE make this make sense? LOL!

 

It can't be mine my wife won't give me my allowance until next month; I guess it's yours.

 

This one was insane. It smells like inside collusion. Make it make sense?

 

The isn't much scuffing in the fields. That obviously attracts some flies. Add the old holder and a Gold CAC. You will see crazy prices.

 

I'm thinking it would be a VF-25, possibly details due to an old cleaning. For an 1893-S you can expect it to go for closer to CPG than Greysheet (which for a 25 are $8500 and $6750) but spending over $700 more than CPG on a raw example blows my mind. Had I been brought this coin raw, I likely would've given them around $6000 for it and closer to Greysheet had it been graded a 25.

I just pray to the coin gods that whoever spent a whopping $9,217.55 on that piece bought it as a collector.

 

I pray for their health, complete with a defibulator and rescue team while waiting for it to come back from grading.

 

If the seller can produce a detailed close-up picture of the die scratch in the “T” in “LIBERTY,” why are his pictures of the whole coin not well cropped with more details visible? Hard pass.
