In Montana I use to hang laundry straight from the washer out in 20 below zero weather. It would be stiff but it dried faster than it froze due to the dry air.
Try a razor blade and start a small cut under the top coin on one end, between two coins. Then get some strong tweezers and try and slowly peel the plastic away in a spiral and let them fall on a towel or micro cloth. Once a few come out, the entire roll should loosen up. Worth a try and minimal contact marks. Oh wait.... hard plastic and not shrink wrapped? Then nevermind.
Yes sir, as you know, I was just joking. I wouldn't part with it either, lol. By the way, Happy (early) Birthday!
Ps Yall I have also been photo'ing other coins I bought. The Campgate I just posted has been a little of a pain to Identify. It came in a flip without a tag or description.
I told the dealer that sold them to me of my conquest with the rolls. He said to me "Really" what are ya gonna do with them. Why wouldn't ya just hold on to them. Said, it's all about the Varieties. We then proceeded on a sale of a Paeonia AR Tetradrachm. Thanks Jeff
Cut off about 10 coins from each roll, Pipe cutter, and cut lengthwise with a razor blade until you could tear the plastic. Found an earlier die stage of the Retained IDB 54S. The 55S there are quite a few minor errors and a nice fun Retained IDB It looks like this one is in-between a stage A and Stage B. I will get photos later as I am about to catch some figure 8 racing up at Colorado National Speedway. Here is the Error. RCD-1c-1955S-05R Stage B https://cuds-on-coins.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/IMG_8151.jpg
Here is the seconds 54S, Earlier die stage This reverse die is heavily ghosted. Notice it is missing the die crack from the right wheat.
Yeah, it is unabraded also and has a very nice even texture like luster. These rolls are producing I found 2 coins that are so close to being a retained cud, haven't looked them up yet. Two others that are rpm-003, and two that have a really nice clash C N, and T. Still haven't cut anymore into the coin rolls, not to mention that a couple a few of them are Gem. I will try to get some photos today.
I haven't spent alot of time yet trying to identify it. I haven't found this one on Cuds on coins yet. I have two of these. Earlier die stage Later die stage The other die marker right wheat
