After quite a bit of searching, asking around at banks, and determined not to pay $3-$5 for a single example of a coin that should be in circulation, I finally found a modestly priced example of a 2026 dime. There happened to be a local coin show happening a week or two ago, so I decided to go on "2026 Dime Quest." Once there, I saw plenty of 2026 50¢ singles and rolls at tables, but no quarters and no dimes. I asked a dealer if he had any dimes and he started to rant about how they're being "sequestered away" and claimed he wouldn't pay the going rate for rolls ($40 and over on Ebay). At another table, someone told me that a person had just come in trying to sell a 2026 dime, but the dealer wasn't interested. He did have a slabbed example for $35. But I wasn't looking for that. He surreptitiously pointed me to the table to his right and half-whispered "I think he has some." So, after waiting for the next table to clear, I asked the dealer if he had any. He didn't answer at first and looked upwards as if deep in thought. Then he turned around without saying anything. I wondered if he had actually heard me. Then he slowly rummaged through a box until he pulled out a roll. I happily saw that the roll said "2026 dimes." He moved very slowly and I asked him how much they were. He said "$1 a piece." So I asked for 2. After he slowly peeled the roll apart, I gave him $2 and my "2026 Dime Quest" was complete. One of the samples is below. Why aren't they circulating? Perhaps the first dealer is correct. People are likely trying to profit off of them, which is unfortunate. I was okay with $1 a piece, but soon I should be able to get them in change. It's sometimes a bizarre hobby.
That's kind of my attitude as well. I want one, and I could just buy one, but it seems silly not to just wait and get one in circulation.
I ordered a roll set at $40 dollars a pop plus $5.95 shipping. I will sell a p and d set with flip for a dollar at my coin club. I think that will put me at even cost once all said and done. The dimes sold out in about 15 minutes at the mint yesterday; I think that is why they are asking so much from your dealers. I'm doing the same with the Wisconsin dollars, a p and d with flip for $5. The dollars cost $2.44 a piece, but are not as desirable as the dimes. I like to be able to do this for my club because some guys are put off with navigating the us mint website. I guess $2 isn't so bad for 2 dimes. Mike.

Yeah, these aren't going to be rare in circulation by any means. They just haven't gotten around yet and people want them now. I bought a couple rolls and a bag from the mint on Friday and just plan to hang onto them sealed, for my own collection. I expect to see them in circulation soon. I'll grab a silver proof set and a graded silver and clad for my type set as well and then I won't worry about them anymore.
Now I can't decide whether to get one of these in a CAC slab, or with a CAC sticker, or just the CAC privy mark.
