Here is a coin for your enjoyment. It has a beautiful golden tone.

You’re speaking my love language! This one’s a dandy. Strongly struck and all around clean mint state example. I like it when they get this golden hue.

A solid specimen. Hard to tell from the glare, but it appeals to be a split tail.

I am not exactly sure what you mean by that. Are you saying that the tail is clearly defined, or is this some sort of die marker? Under a scope, the tuft of the tail is pretty defined with two tufts.

It goes to what I described the coin as, strongly struck.

The tail tips of a Buffalo are the deepest depths of the Buff reverse die. Horns may indicate wear but my first look at Full strike goes to the tail. Then the MM..
    Nice Buffalo Josh.

You guys have a nice herd of buffalos in this thread. Beautiful coins when in MS condition.

    Nice.

This is my current Buffalo nickel type coin. It's only a 63, but nice enough to fill the slot for now.

This is one I owned, sold, bought back, then later sold again (and should have kept).

So the tail tip is the highest point on the reverse? I read the high points are the shoulder and the hip (with the tail tip included).

And one of my favorite weekly struck Buffs.
