im trying to obtain 2026 rolls 5,10,25,50 and dollar where can i find them in the new york metro area....does anyone know
It's April not only haven't I seen 1 coin from 2026, I have never seen an Althea Gibson which came out 6 months ago.
I have not seen any 2026 coins here in central NJ. Asked the tellers and they have not seen any either (although some tellers don't know the difference between any of the quarters for the past 20 years. Maybe if they were shinney it would attract their attention).
I still need 2024 and 2025 coins. Naturally I need the 2026 coins but as my folders and albums are filled up I stop collecting the modern coins.
...And they are bigger than the great pyramids! My AI (copilot) suggests; "The scale is impressive enough without importing anything from space.".
I'm almost sure the banks don't need as much change as they once did and only order more when needed. I'll also guess that more folks are cashing in the change they have laying around. Most of the change I get comes from the Denver mint. It's always late in the year before I find any of the new coins for that year.
Feels like this topic keeps coming up lol. eBay sellers don't seem to be having trouble finding these, but the only 2026 coins I've yet seen in circulation are the dimes (and only Denver so far). Heck I've still not found an Althea Gibson quarter from last year yet. I think people are just using coins less so it's taking longer for newly minted coins to show up in circulation. People may be hoarding some of them, but there's no way they can manage to hoard all of them, so that can't be the only reason they're hard to find. Dollar coins, good luck, I almost never see people spend these anymore. Although a while ago I did actually get two of the Alabama innovation dollars as change from a vending machine. But expect that to be an extreme rarity! As for Native American dollars I've not seen one in circulation yet more recent than 2009. You want a full roll of any of this year's Native American dollars or Innovation dollars, you're probably going to have to buy them from the Mint.
