I here ya, Machine doubling can happen anywhere on the coin. Some times have zero rime or rhythm. The variety is doubled on the die, and cannot display upon strike anything other than what Variety vista, Wexler, or Lincoln resource, upon other sites not mentioned, the only time this can vary is because of die wear. I would encourage you to check all diagnostics before swearing that your coin is a very rare variety. Please post more pics, if you feel that I am wrong about your coin, It wouldn't be a first, as I have been in the same position as you.
Some of you people are so CLUELESS! This is Mickeys161 thread, like it says or you can't SEE that either? Haha! Hey Mickey, If I were you I'd send it to James Wiles or Wexler because I see a serif in the 2nd S in STATES. That's if you wanna take the risk. Because the reward is worth the risk. That's me though.
Most collectors need bi focals and Doubled Dies are what they should not be trying to help attribute.
As well as knowing about every coin out in circulation, you're a psychic as well? A completely incorrect psychic. Don't quit your day job buddy!
