Hot off the presses we have the newest sticker service: u-1-Rainbow! What has been lacking in this market is a sticker that judges how great a toned coin really is. Now that has been covered with a service which will score each toned coin on a 1 to 5 basis. The more vibrant and flashy, the better. People will be competing to attain the coveted "5" Rainbow sticker. More details will be provided as the service takes shape.
Quite the marketing ploy at least for me, I like toners but I won't spend extra money on them as you never know how a toned coin will look after a few years. Below is a link for a toned ASE, price is $1,100, that's insane! https://www.ebay.com/itm/167160654937
Behold this spectacularly chocolate-toned specimen, where the surfaces have matured into a deep, decadent Mocha that would make a barista weep with envy. The fields are not merely "circulated"—they are vibrant with the whispers of history, supplemented by ethereal shades of charcoal highlights that dance across the devices like smoke from a 17th-century cannon. The crown, perched atop the crossed scepters, retains a regal defiance, its details softened by time into a "dreamlike impressionism." Note the XII—rendered with such bold, rustic authority that it practically demands to be redeemed for the silver it was never destined to touch. ( Note. I am seeking a weekend job cataloging with Heritage or Stacks Bowers).
That one is priced strong but there have been toned Silver Eagles that have broken $1k and even $2k. I like that one for the color and the grade of MS 69 is about as high as you will see for a toner (and is not common). I think it would sell at about half of the asking price and could approach the ask if someone is really motivated to own it.
Yeah I've seen a couple priced at 1k and more, obviously they don't interest me but they sell, different strokes!
