Ok now I'm really dreaming. I have one of those twos. but a whole sheet.... man that would be something!
The Binion Hoard, right? I believe they are selling off some of those bills now. I saw an ad somewhere.
I was there in 1998 and they still had them on display when i was there.... Lost all my money in that part of town... this creepy guy who claimed to just got out of jail followed us, (me and my buddies) all the way back to the strip. To say the least we had to use quite alot of verbal de-escaltion techniques. Those were younger years! I always carry cab fare in my shoe now.
Yes Binion. I think they sold all of them. It's a sellers market. I thought they sold them for like 40K per in bulk. And then they have been resold 100K+ individually.
Speaking of high priced stuff, here's the most expensive note I've ever purchased. The full vignette of Poseidon and some muses or whatever is really pretty. I spent $59.88 on this Canadian Bank of Commerce
Woah nice. Gotta love beautiful nude women on a note. Gets the blood flowing. Cool serial number too.
Same. I absolutely love the neoclassical nudes... Bring Em Back! And I totally didn't even notice the serial number when I bought it. Definitely a pleasant surprise when I popped open the envelope
I purchased this 1935 The Canadian Bank of Commerce 10 dollars for $51.88. Quite a lot for me, but I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing condition it came in. Unfortunately, there's some weird gunk on the back that I don't know how to remove without damaging the note... Another beautiful full vignette with some amazing neoclassical figures. The condition of this one lets you see how neat the central colorful engraving is. Definitely somewhat reminiscent of ABNC engravings.
Yes. Fairly common 100 Srang circa 1942. Constructed of multiple layers so that it shows a "watermark". Crude but neat bill. Here is shot of what it looks like with some light passing through. Sorry for the blurry photo...
Neat! The script for their language is very interesting. Beautiful but from what I hear, immensely difficult.
