So I was going through my change and I found this 2006 P dime that has a piece of cud on his eyebrow that makes it look like a mole. LOL I mean it's interesting to me, but I don't know the collectability of it. More questions to come
First, a cud is a break that occurs along the rim and extends into the field. However, there are some people who think that a cud does not necessarily have to extend into the field. I am not one of them! As for the mark on the eyebrow, it could be a die chip or a die gouge, but without a better close-up, I'd only be guessing. Chris
Sorry about the improper term. I'll try to refrain from using a term till I know it fits. I'll see what I can do about a better pic also.
Don't worry about it. You'll learn the correct terminology in time. You aren't the first person to have used the wrong term, and you definitely won't be the last. Chris
If you're referring to photography, you'll find that it can be an integral part of numismatics. Here are some close-ups that will give you an idea how a decent close-up can answer a lot of questions for others reading your posts. Chris
Wow! All I have is my phone to take pictures with. I may have to get a camera. Watch for my next thread. I told my dad about some of the 1982 pennies being copper, so he dug through his change and brought me all the pre-1982 and 1982 pennies he had. I told him the i found out that occasionally someone finds a 1983 that is copper. Well, the first one I pulled out and looked at wit be the topic of my next thread....
