So Wexler ,Wiles,Ken Potter who do you believe this would be the best to have the attribution ? As a nickel and variety collector I'm not interested in selling ,but more so in the attribution of the coin. Then since neither PCGS or NGC would slab it with the attribution I'm guessing Anacs ? Any thoughts ?
I think I would go with Wexler to start. See what he says about it and go from there maybe he will suggest what to do with it lable-wise. Personally I'd hate to see that coin paired up with ugly ANACS yellow
Yeah I'm not a fan of the yellow however they seem to be getting grading right these days. I know several believed that I got short changed on the 1917 SLQ, however after looking at the coin I believe that they called it correctly . No matter what Au.58 FH isn't the end of the world as the coin is fantastic and I'm pleased .
I remember that. Beautiful coin. Well get one of those guys to give their opinion of it and then go from there. See what happens.
Will keep you posted ,again many thanks for your input . Discovery of new varieties and exploring the who ,what, where, and whys....just makes this hobby so Interesting . Just holding money from all parts of history is a rush...thinking of its life and times as it has traveled.
beer 30 never showed up today. I see the doubing but am not sure about the variety's. Cool coin Paddy!
Paddy it would not be considered a Mule. If it is what I see in the photos, I say you have a good shot at a new variety though. This would be classified the same as a WAM, CAM etc.. Good catch.. Send an article to CONECA when it gets verified.
I am trying to go through this but am still a little confused. Wddr-003 is a proof, what I cannot find is whether or not it is silver or nickel. Most everything seems to match up except the doubling on the obv.
Update on Variety Vista it says that DDR-003 is silver, and checking die stage B. Which are the only pics it has. It looks to be the same die.
