Howdy folks! I bought this dime for the splendid price of $30. The pictures from the seller were ok. In hand, it is very nice! The coin is very hard to photograph due to the luster, but here are my attempts. I believe it's been cleaned. Would you put this at AU details or UNC? I think it just borders UNC.
The coin looks like it was on its way to having great even toning, but the cleaning took care of that. Otherwise, a very nice coin, could be AU. Good luck.
Yeah, that cleaning was rough. WHY??!!! In any case, I bought it to replace a pretty worn example in my dad's Barber dime set. I like keeping an eye out for deals and upgrading his set when coins like this turn up. As a general rule, I dislike everything Barber designed for general circulation once they get below VF. In higher grades, however, they can look pretty nice.
I concur with AU details. Minor issues? Yeah, but the eye appeal isn't bad, and I'd say it was a good pickup for thirty bucks.
