HEY that is exactlyh the same coins I'm collecting. So that is why they are so hard to find. Your finding them first.
Many posts on that subject. Eventually many admit they use thier thumb. Acid and oils from that can cause all kinds of stuff.
Good luck. Of all of my Franklins, the 53P was by far the most difficult. It took me almost 18 months of searching to find a 53P. It was the last one that I needed to complete the set.
Found one in nice shape with FBL at a new coin store that just opened. But it's raw and he wants $160. Saw two of them at a coin show. Again raw with FBL. Dealer wanted $220.00 each. Just absurd. Still searching. I have one 1953P in the Dansco already but it's beat.
I hate to drag this post out but just had to say this. Went to a coin show Sunday. Just one of many but at this one a dealer I know well had a 1955 Double Die Lincoln Cent in about MS63 or better, red. Now I've got several of them but not in a grade like this one. I checked it out as best as possible. The dealer is the type that has been in buisness for a long time and has usually about 3 to 4 tables at a coin show. He said he went over this one carefully since there are noted fakes out there. Since he knows me he would let it go for about $1,000 due to me being a long time customer. Didn't have that with me but he said he'll hold it for me for the next show. Now that is one more thing I like about a local coin show. A dealer that will put aside a coin or even go looking for something you want.

im working on 1. lincoln cent 09-2007 2. jefferson nickel 38-07 (i've found all but 5, which i dont have yet, from roll searching) 3. I just started a franklin half collection
I'm 1/4 done with walkers, including a nice 38-D. Just started franklins, and am not going for too high of a grade, just want to get it done. And jeffersons and lincoln memorials from roll searching. Practically done with the lincoln memorials, and have alot of the jefferson set as well. Once I finish those, I think I'm done with sets. I'll buy ancients, paper, a type coins...basically whatever looks appealing and fairly priced to me. I think that will be alot more fun.
Finshed lincolns, franklins, buffalos (minus overdates and 3 leggers), and franklins. Closing in on shields, v nickels, indian cents, washinton quarters, and barber quarters. I want to do large cents and babrer halves, but I am tapped atm. LOL Ryan
cotton gloves when adding coin to my Littleton Archive album...I only have 1 for Lincolns, everything else is in safety flips in dbl row boxes, my slabs in PCGS boxes. I have bought Lincoln sets in old Whitman albums, and yep...some nasty toning can be found, but some beautiful also...too risky to chance I started Canadian Large cents, very nice, great looking coins. I can't believe the bang for the buck on this set. Also, thinking about a set of Large Cents of a year with alot of varietys...might have to get a Sheldon book for that.
im making a us type set a lincoln cent set 1909- present a mercury dime set and id like to start a buffalo nickel and kennedy set
Well, I'm happy to say I'm almost complete on my set of Indian $2.5s ! I've got 'em all except the only key - the deadly 1911-D. All other pieces are about the same price, and that one is worth as much as all the rest combined. Q: How many issues in a complete set of Indian $2.5s ? A: 15 - and if you're got 14, you're halfway there !
