After a journey that started in 2014 it finally came to an end this past week! I found my 1943 d in January and just found the 1938 s this past week!
All from circulation? If so, major COINgratulations! Even the '50-D? Y'know, I'm not sure I've ever seen a circulated example of that date before!
Yes even the 50 d. I actually just found another 50 a couple weeks ago. Since I started back up again I have found a 50 d, 2 38 d, a 38s and 4 39s, 2 43d in the last couple of months.
I guess there's still a steady stream of people cashing in collections at banks or spending them at stores. Keeps things interesting for those of us who do pay attention!
I had like 20 boxes collecting dust that I started to get rid of back in November when I got off of my crutches. Then mid December I started picking up a few boxes a week to try and finish my book. I’d say besides the 20 ish boxes I had previously, I have looked through maybe another 30 fresh cases since December 12 of which were all brand new 2023 or 2025. I’d consider myself lucky to have found what I found.
Nice work. I’m also in the ‘have pulled a complete set of Jeff’s from circulation’ club. Very cool. 43-D was my last one needed as well.
The 43d is a hard one to get. A lot of people know to pull the silver ones first before anything else making it harder to find.
Congrats!. I achieved the same in early 2014 after starting in 2011. I actually found two 50-Ds in circulation before I found the last one I needed - 39-D. It's pretty cool to actually complete a circulation set in the 21st century.
I agree. Congratulations! Has anyone here been able to fill out a silver Roosevelt book from circulation or any other books?
