Today's email contained notification that David Lawrence Rare Coins (DLRC) is handling the first auction resale of a Lincoln Omega Cent set.

"Why we love it: These are the very last pennies struck by the United States Mint in a circulating finish. Each one carries a small Omega mark signifying the end of the cent, which was first struck in 1793. Only 232 sets are available; one for each year the cent has been produced, making this a rare and exciting opportunity indeed! The set includes:

2025 Omega Cent (Philadelphia Mint) in classic Circulating finish, graded PCGS 64RD
2025-D Omega Cent (Denver Mint) in classic Circulating finish, graded PCGS MS65RD
24K gold 2025 Omega Cent (first U.S. cent struck in pure 24 karat gold) in special Uncirculated, or Burnished finish graded PCGS MS69

Also included is the PCGS Banknote encapsulated COA from the United States Mint."

I already have 2025's and now waiting for 2026 (no cent) on pre-order.

The starting bid is over $90,000 so I think that lets most of us out.

And did you notice the condition of the P and D? Those two zinc cents are horrible only five months after minting. I can see why the original purchaser wanted out. Dump them before they get even worse.

Anything over a hundred and fifty thousand and I'm out. Notice I did not use a dollar sign...

It's amazing to me that they (apparently) didn't take greater care with these handling them off the press. I see no reason why they shouldn't all be top-grade gem mint condition with no blemishes.

You obviously didn't watch the video of the ceremonial final striking of 232. Both the Pressman and celeb had their grubbies all over it

I'm wondering who has the one(s) with the fingerprints all over it/them.

Page through the listings of the Stacks-Bowet auction. It wasn't just ONE that has fingerprints...

Leaving ugly fingerprints on pieces of US history... nope, going to back away slowly from further comment.

I've ranted about these before. I tried getting a good photo of one of the cents with hopes to include it in my 2027 calendar. Even in 66RD and without all the spots, they are not photogenic in the least. I will not be including it.

Okay Randy, I’m not interested at that price. For $90,000 I could pay for and drive a new BMW sports car. :)
    Any more earthquakes?

I wouldn’t bid 90k for a Gobrecht dollar that looked like that. It will only get worse.
