$170? I think those six denarii are worth more than $30 each. I agree, they're asking a lot for pretty packaging. However, it's not totally horrible, especially since the target market is someone who knows nothing about ancient coins and who probably doesn't intend to learn much about them.
I don't know. Some of them seem quite corroded. Would love to see the reverses, but I'll guess it's probably the most common types for each of the person's depicted on the coins.
It says "9 available" and "Coin type and grade may vary somewhat from image" LOL pro: enough sets for both of us con: you won't get the coins pictured ....why am I posting on the dark side of CT?
I've actually seen some of those sets in person. The coins don't really look bad, you won't get anything thats horrible if anything I would say they are decent. It is still overpriced though, you can buy a nice tray for $40 or so to display them.
I think that's roughly what I'd put the box, Air-tites, and included historical material at. Somewhere around $40-60 for the packaging sounds right, assuming it's one of those nice hardwood veneer presentation boxes. If the coins are worth $200 altogether, then $275 for the whole lot wouldn't be crazy.
