I will start the show with this one from Saint Albans Abbey.

My coin is a AV Dukat dated 1725 from Mainz Mint

    Obverse: an "Ass"
Reverse: Saint Albans, holding hie severed Head, Blood erupting from neck arteries. Kinda messy theme. f0d79632033a52595da1609049f70512 (2).jpg

How about a lions mane obverse and a winged horse reverse?

You know, its one of my fav. coins. I won it from Munzenonline auction for 3200 SF.
Another one from Münzenonline from last year.

    Uri
    AV Dukat 1736/20 overstrike.

This coin features a menacing looking Bull with a ring thru its nose! No wonder it looks mad.
Reverse depicts a "Saint Martinus" ad2e6f5d890f8642e6b2198069ec844c (9).jpg as knight on route to Holyland "crusades" aiding a "beggar"

Barber coin designs were SO MUCH nicer then todays crap from US Mint, the US produced its most beautifull gold coins 1796-1833. The Turban Heads are awesome.

The 1983 San Marino coins were themed around "The Threat of Nuclear War." All of the designs are varying levels of weird, but my favorite is the 20 Lire, featuring a man T-posing while a bomb lands a bullseye on his head.

"A painful image of something falling from the heavens: not the manna promised from the Scriptures, but Death, with the weapons which Man has devised."

One of my favorites for this topic. This Italian coin with a serpent devouring man.
