A few more: 1882-O Moran dollar 1883 Moran dollar I'm a retired Teacher. Whenever I'd spot widespread (and comically absurd) plagiarism, I would tell my students, "You need to copy from someone a LOT smarter than this."
That one just sold! And no it wasn't me (I was debating making an offer and missed out ). The few IGS graded coins I have seen actually look pretty nice (within a point or accurate...but I have only seen a handful). There also isn't too much info on the company. So it is a bit of a mystery slab.
Interesting. The listing said "sold for $450", but according to the tools available at Watchcount, they actually accepted an offer of $325. If it was accurately graded, someone did well; if it was undergraded, the buyer's going to be very happy indeed.
Here's the coin in question: If that were presented here for grading, I'd call it "a decent shot at 64 but 63 wouldn't shock me." It sold between 64 and 65 money.
I could see it getting 65 at NGC if one got lucky. Definitely not a PCGS 65 but 63+/64 wouldn't surprise me.
