Bausch & Lomb 7X for detail work. General viewing I use a 3X or 5X. I also have a scope for real small work...just take a picture and view it on my computer. Bruce
I like the look of these. Slimmer than average? At home my go to is the 10X end of an older rifle scope that quit working. It's pretty good but bulky in my pocket...think hi honey Are you glad to see me bulky. I've bought a number of cheaper loupes over the years and found the older vintage glass is worth paying up for. IF I can't see what I'm looking for at 10x, I won't spend the time to convince myself it there... I'm more looking for something to put in my pocket for Urban Prospecting Yard and Estate sales where I can stealthy snag something that other's don't See, Snapping a picture on my phone and enlarging it works well.
A 10x is sufficient. The higher magnification you use the more errors you’ll see. If you can’t see it with the naked eye, is it really an error?
I think so but I’ve always used a 10x. The LCS that I’ve shopped at on a regular basis over the years also use a 10x.
