I was reading another awesome article by Greg Reynolds today, and suddenly I see a coin that looks very familiar. I did a double take, and sure enough, its a coin in my Type set that I currently own!

I can't tell you how much of a smile that gave me, I even ran and told the wife. :woot:

Besides seeing my coin (so you'll see how famous I am ), its a really good article worth reading.

    Here's the coin in question:

Has this ever happened to you?

    That is very cool!

The closest I recall is PCGS sharing one of my coins on a post they made on their Instagram page.

    Cool!

Yes, that happened to me once. I used to enjoy reading the Antique Sage blog.

I once stumbled across a spotlight article they did on a piece which I had bought not long before.

This beautiful 1848 French pattern was PCGS SP65 RB. I wish I still had it.

There used to be an article about the 1806 O-129 50c discovery coin, which I used to own, but that article no longer exists online, so I retold that story in a post here.

This was my "one that got away". I acquired it for about $40 worth of stuff, sold it for $75, then later watched it get discovered as a new die combination and later sell for four figures. Another was later discovered, so there are two known.

I have written (and read) articles featuring my own coins, and I've read an article about a coin that I found in auction archives (@Jack D. Young ) and didn't own, but I haven't read an article about my own coin written by someone else. That's cool!
