    Thanks for identifying that breed. I almost thought it some kind of Hereford cross.

    You're welcome. Do you know the breed of the orange/sorrel bovine Kurt posted? They almost look like horned yaks and very much highlanders.

    The only time I've ever seen fancy breeds was at the fairs. Even though I grew up on a farm we were pretty much Holstein, Guernsey's & Jersey's. ( And only a few each of these to bulk up the fat content ). A few other farms raised White Faced Herefords. Even Black Angus were rare around Massachusetts.
