Toned Morgans

    As I stated in an earlier thread my dealer just bought a load of product of a woman who came in and unloaded her deceased husbands collection. I picked these morgans out of a whitman folder that had been sitting in a box in the back of the garage for nearly 15 years. I was happy to pick them up for $15 a piece. Enjoy.

    Congrats again BQ ~ way better than my coin find today ~ went to the vending machine at the hotel & there was $1.25 in change in the 'change slot' ~ guess someone forgot. That's the best coin find I've had all day :) Sorry but you are not allowed to make offers to buy or sell outside of the open forum

    BQ they are lovely, I have a few Morgans but non with those tones :thumb::thumb:

    Everybody should pay particular attention to this one. It is an excellent example for showing the first wear locations on Morgans.

    Yes, and I'm sure the lack of toning on those high spots was where it was in direct contact with the sheets in the folder that was supposed to hold the toning down.

    It's possible but not likely. You see, areas of a coin that are worn will tone differently than areas that have original mint luster.
