    I had two Five dollar bills that we "redeemable in Gold". I gave them to two of my grandchildren.

    The verbiage there mimics that of a Gold Certificate, but it obviously wasn't one. Color and legal ability to claim gold was less definitive.

    I almost pulled the trigger on a very nice $50 Gold Certificate at FUN 2026. I think it was a 50 or 55 as I recall...would have cost close to $2,000 for my most expensive currency purchase by alot.

    In the end, I didn't have enough $$$ as I did what the U.S. Olympic Hockey Team did and went for the gold (coins). :D
