I have a 1975 dime and have been reading about the missing mint and how it works. where I'm stuck is mine does not have a mint and surely looks like a proof coin.
I see a bunch of polishing lines on your coin. None of the devices have a cameo of any sort. Better, cropped and over head pics are needed. How did you get that dime stuck to a pin anyways?
lol My grandma had a regular 1975 Philadelphia mint dime business strike in her coins from around the world. I found it and did research and could tell it was not a proof so I just went on with my day. I was looking at a jewelry box a month later and found the shiny one this one. I haven't polished or done anything just trying to figure out why it's different and all so shiny. So shiny my camera won't focus on it. I'll try to get better ones.
oh and the pin, I have no clue why she or someone who had given this to her had it on a pin. Now maybe someone did that to polish it. wow I amaze myself sometimes. Thanks for making me realize.
Glued to the pin??? If that was done it was likely to be used as a decoration on a coat, blouse or hat. And it was polished just to look nice. Value - $0.10 (if removed from the pin).
