Die chip and doubling? Need help here too.

    Another one!
There's an odd-shaped "thing" (dare I say huge die chip?) between the L and the I.
Not a BIE error, of course, but something else similar. There is doubling in the date and Liberty but I'm not sure of that.
The "thing" is the same thickness as the letters of Liberty. Looks like a crunched D or L.
    Appreciate any and all help. :) Ty DSCN2684.JPG DSCN2684marked.JPG DSCN2685.JPG DSCN2686.JPG DSCN2687.JPG

The coin took a hit at that location which pushed up some metal creating your "thing". If you look above the R in Liberty you will see an almost identical hit and pushed metal episode like the one between the L & I.
    In short, post mint damage.

    Ty Bert :)
    And another question...
let's suppose someone finds a wonderful coin error or something...but the coin is low grade...is it even worth keeping it? or is it as good as if it didn't have any error, variety or thing that makes it special?

The answer will help me eliminate a many of my coins and narrow down my search! :)

It depends on the extent of the error, Variety's are a different story, They are collected in many grades.

    I agree... but
Since the OP mentioned a BIE Die Break error. There have been other breaks in LIBERTY also. There have been LII, IIB, EIR, RIT, TIY examples found :watching:
