Yep, that's from a deteriorated die. Poor thing had been worked to death.

(now I'm thinking about dies with deuterium bonded to them, maybe a bit of nuclear fusion to improve striking pressure...)

Also, if you dont mind me asking, could this be a die crack?

The way its running doesnt look like a scratch WIN_20260213_14_40_37_Pro.jpg

It could be, but it looks more like a Lamination Flaw to me due to how straight
    the line is running.

That is actually a planchet issue. It's a Lamination Crack. Not a Die Crack.

Hello! Can we see the whole Obverse please?
    looks like a "lamination error".

When it is flat and shelflike it would then be worthless doubling. Not a doubled die variety.

The coin was minted by a worn out tired die. The line that you call a die crack is not that. It’s a lamination issue, a planchet error. Put in a flip to protect it.

Really? With that extremely "flat and shelf-like" image stretched toward the rim?

I'm definitely not the guy for variety attribution, but this really looks like classic die-deterioration "doubling" to me. Are you seeing something different?

These early year 82s zinc of course show some heavyware here's an example

Just cuz it die is worn and torn, beat to hell doesn't mean it's not doubled die

That's why always visit the variety sites to see how they took their pictures so you'll know how to take yours
