2 banks and 4 different tellers on my way home tonight yielded $10.50 in loose halves...nada worth keeping.

    Also, no large dollars.

Oh well, good luck to all!

for me...I do my drop offs and pick ups when I am running different errands. so if I am going to pay a bill, or grocery shopping, etc. whatever bank is closest to that errand is where I go. it kinda helps on that fuel cost. I agree the money we make is peanuts to a regular job, but... I roll search while I am watching tv. while some people sit there and JUST watch tv. i'll take a couple bucks an hour to do something I was already going to do to begin with.

Looks like it got pinched in a hinge. I hate it when that happens to a finger. :(

Edit: post-mint. Think about the process of squeezing a planchet between two dies, within a collar, and try to imagine a way that you could get a dent like this. I can't.

Last week the credit union called and asked if I would come and get rolled coin, couldn't because I was buying a new car and didn't have the time.

Today I finally got around to going in and buying up the rolled dimes - $350 in CWR produced the following:

    1 1923 Merc, in AG
    2 1946
    1 1953-D
    1 1954-D
    1 1959
    1 1961
    1 1962-D
    4 1964
    2 1964-D

14 silver dimes- beats the 6 dimes I found in the $750 face in BWR last week.

You mean your credit union CALLS YOU when there is rolled coins that come in? What a great arrangement. Great finds.

  14. That's what I'm confused about a dent like this almost looks like a foreign object was there when it got struck kinda like a"struck threw coin" but I guess not lol..really appreciate your comments.. thanxs :)

They count on me to get rid of the rolled coin for them. It is a win win situation. I talked them into the arrangement by promising to not bring them back, then the tellers don't have to unroll coin into bags and the credit union doesn't pay to ship the bagged coin to a distributor. Today I went in to buy up all the nickels they would sell me, and they only had a solitary half dollar - but it is a 1967 so I had to obligate myself to buying it and retiring it from circulation.

$8.50 in loose halves from 3 tellers at a credit union yesterday yielded nothing. I found it humorous one teller was hesitant to sell me the few halves she had because she thought they were all collectible. I didn't educate her about which halves she should look for because I'm no fool!

It sounds like you've just found a willing recipient for dumping your rejects!

Sorry to hear that. But if you're like me, you could easily burn a month just organizing your coin collection, so maybe a little time off will be good.

Plus you'll be stoked to start up again!
