    Anyway, I wish I were a bird today instead of an attorney. I spent all morning hunched up over a bunch of metal pieces and parts, taking photos and listening to forensic investigators and engineers, and trying to comprehend the jargon spewing from their mouths.

    I remember a Pileated Woodpecker landing in our Orchard when I was a kid. Incredible, dinosaur looking...and surprisingly large. My mother took pictures from our window. I looked it up (yeah, encyclopedia at the school library - this was B.C. you know...), and was amazed how scarce they were.
