From an email: NGC has released a new mobile app that features some of the most popular research tools from the world’s largest third-party coin grading service. The NGC app allows users to verify the certification numbers on their NGC holders, browse an enhanced version of the NGC Census, and receive the latest NGC news. Optimized for both smartphones and tablets, the free NGC app is available now in the App Store and Google Play. App Store Google Play
NGC sent me an e-mail about it.. I was checking it out on the bus ride home and was getting ready to install it on my cellphone when I suddenly fell asleep all the way to the last stop! I will download it later
It looks nice, works really well (much faster than the old NGC app) and it shows pop reports. I hope they'll add more features in upcoming SW releases.
What do you mean? You can scan barcodes using the app. It basically replaces the classic "coin details" app.
I've had this app since January, I suppose they just didn't announce it until now. It seems to work well enough!
Even logged in, the census works for some coins, a tap on its pop number will lead to the table. But for other coins, just nothing happens after you tap its population. I tried four different coins, only one will show the census after tapping on its population. I guess this is still a primitive app and needs more improvement.
It was a common occurrence whenever NGC made a change that there were bugs to be corrected. The best thing I can suggest is that you go to the "Ask NGC" forum and let them know. Chris
This could due to a backend/DB issue. Have you checked if you get any numbers on their web site for those coins where the app doesn't show any data? I have just selected a couple of random coins, not only US also German coins, and it works for me. Primitive app? I'd say great job, NGC.
