not the prettiest example but for $45 not the ugliest. Anybody able to tell what Sheldon #? E58756AB-396C-4C78-95B8-1DD9C12A42EE.jpeg D5B22B3D-948B-4BF3-88D1-055EBEE883C0.jpeg

It is very difficult to attribute 1800 large cents by Sheldon number. Years ago I was working with one in VF-30, which would probably be an EF-40 today, and I had a very hard to time figuring out the variety. I will leave this one to the experts.

Too rough for me even to see some details that might help me even start. So does not look like an overdate and looks hairstyle 2. But that is all I can really tell and not even 100% sure on those.

Rough, but that's par for the course on these Draped Bust coins, of course.

Reasonably nice details under the corrosion. The corrosion is the wild card here, though. It's highly up to individual interpretation as to how much one should deduct for it.

I don't know. $45, huh? I'm not sure whether or not I'd personally pay 45 bucks for that one, but on an intuitive "gut check", I'd say that doesn't sound too crazy.

Looks dug, I would have passed on this lady.

I agree that it looks dug. I'd pass on it too, but I'm kind of picky. But for all I know, $45 might be a reasonable price for this coin, to someone who wants an example of that date or variety, and doesn't mind the corrosion.

So many cents of this type are in wretched condition that this one is definitely not the absolute worst you could do.

I say AG-3 and I agree, it looks like a recently dug coin.
