I did the roll searching (50cent) in 2007-09 and got about 13% profit (in Ohio). anyone doing this lately? What the return like now? Hard to believe they aren't all picked over now. Is there a better denomination?

I've been told that certain banks can still order them, but I've never found one that can.

The only way that most banks have Ike dollars is if customers deposit them.

I am not sure what this is. I only have my phone on me so the picture is not good. Is it a silver proof? When I opened the roll it looked like a silver then the date was 1983. It looks like 1960 and 1980 are struck on it too. Any help here? image.jpeg

I've found three of these. I have no attachment to them, so I might throw them up on eBay as a lot at some point.

Depends on area. I use TCF. Many credit unions have them too.

In Denver, the wells Fargo branches have a counting machine in the lobby. Up in the mountains they have it in the vault room. Got to do a test with a counted out amount of quarters to find out if it under counts though.

Strangely, I found a couple of those during my half hunting endeavors.

Not too strange, actually. There are tons of them out there. Other than the curiosity factor, they have very little value. I would happily trade one for a NIFC of any date.

Have tons of NIFC's also. Not sure if one is any more valuable than the other really. I suppose the NIFC's would be but I've found a lot more of those NIFC's than the gold ones. I guess that's why I quit searching a while back. Silver is all but non existent any more.

Great post. I have been searching coin rolls for several years, since I was forced into a new career. I used to find a silver coin every couple of days, but now it seems I'm lucky to find one every couple of weeks. Dimes seem more common, I'm guessing because they are harder to pick out edge checking than quarters. The most common coins I collect out of rolls now are Wheat Pennies. I can usually find 1 in a roll, sometimes 3 or 4. War Nickels are also good to look for, I'll find at least one a week. They are harder to spot because you have to look for that mint mark, most people don't know about them. Most of the good coins I get are from customers. One customer purchased cigarettes using 32 dimes, 29 Mercury,1 pre 64, 1 Canadian 64 and one clad. That was a good day. Attached is a picture of some coins I have gotten over the last couple of months, including some proofs. In the last year, the best luck I have had was what people handed me, not in rolls.
