Wow, that's really gone. These are usually referred to as a "filled die" whether it was filled with grease or something else. Not sure the value, but I'm pretty confident someone on here is.
It seems like I've seen more dimes from different years with this same affliction, that is, missing the "US" in PLURIBUS. It is the result of a grease-filled die and is very common. Chris
