Mercury 1916 D - What do you think?

It looks good to me but I think that rim ding above the R might doom it to a details grade. Still a great pickup. Looks like a G4 to me. Should get all your money back and then some on that one if you choose. People will fight over it.

Yeah, I thought that ding would hurt its grade. I was thinking AG3. Mercury dimes are not my specialty, so would you mind telling me what you think brings it up to a G4?

 

They're not my specialty either but I looked at other mercs that made it into G4 holders and it has similar details and features. Can look at PCGS photograde too to compare it. With an AG-03 the center design is completely worn smooth. It looks better than that to me but would say no higher than G4, IF it straight grades. If I was sending it in I'd expect a G4 or details for rim damage.
