LordM Giveaway #142 (pick your prize) Contest status: OPEN Drawing: pending, on or after 1 March 2026 Winner: pending Shipping status: pending Winner's receipt: pending Hello, everyone, and welcome to the latest giveaway. This will be another one of my "pick your prize" contests, so you can hopefully win something you'll like. To enter: 1. Go view my giveaway goodies list. 2. Come back here to post an entry, stating which prize lot you would prefer. 3. State why you chose what you did. NOTE: That last bit is important. To qualify, you have to not only pick a prize, but also say WHY you picked it. Just a few words will do. Alternately, you could enter on someone else's behalf. Just name them. In that case, you are not required to pick a prize or say why. Your designated proxy will get to pick their choice later, if your entry wins for them. Your prize choice need not be final. I do periodically add new prizes to the giveaway goodies list, so if you win the drawing, you'll be given a chance to change your mind later, if you see a new prize you like more. I just enjoy reading everyone's initial selections up front, since it gives me an idea of what folks like. Click the pic below to view the prize list. The drawing will be done via random number generator sometime on or after the date mentioned at the top of this post. The timing will depend on my schedule. You may consider the contest open for entries until such time as I have posted the final result of the drawing. Totally free: the contest is free of charge, open to everyone, with free worldwide shipping. The only further requirement is... If you win, please post a receipt in this thread after you get the prize, so we'll know you got it (that helps me keep track). Good luck! So… I’m sure y’all have noticed how the price of silver has shot through the roof lately. Sorry, but I succumbed to temptation and sold all the silver in the Giveaway Goodies list. Ha! Just kidding! No I didn’t! It’s all still there, and up for grabs. What I did was add more. There’s now three pages of giveaway goodies to choose from, including lots of silver. There’s even one teeeeny-tiny gold coin, if that floats your boat. So be sure and read the list of prize lots, and choose something fun!
Okay, I'll get this popcorn stand started. I would be honored to win the 1808 India coin set please. Here is the lot #Giveaway Lot #250907-02 Thanks @lordmarcovan !!
Quite the list of goodies you have there @lordmarcovan My choice would be "Giveaway Lot #260119-04". Over the last couple of years I have developed a fancy for proto money. I don't own either of those types. If I win they will join their friends on my book shelf.
I am in again for the United States: 1841 copper Braided Hair large cent - I don't have anything earlier than 1857 and this would be a start to my 7070 album
Entry post for @expat ! I haven’t worn this new shirt I received for Christmas. I’ll probably save it for a coin show.
Well LordM, I am selfishly going to enter this one. I would like the lot of Littleton wheats. I put my humble wheat cent books together as a kid using school lunch money. Wouldn't a batch of lovely red wheats look great in that book? And maybe will inspire me to improve the rest of it too.
Ok, count me in. After a quick glance, if I win, I'd love to have the three 1964 halfs. Still very attractive coins.
I cannot decide which goody I want!! There is just too much great stuff to choose from. So, I will reverse my entry by not picking a prize until I have too, with the reason being it hurts my head.
Thank you for the entry on my behalf @BuffaloHunter. I have not been active on the forum lately, had all my teeth removed due to a bacterial infection. Should be finished with all that early next week when my replacement teeth are fitted. Getting a bit fed up with pureed food and soup for every meal.
It’s meant to be challenging and hurt your head a bit. I remember going into the “31 Flavors” Baskin & Robbins ice cream store as a kid, and having a hard time choosing. I hope to keep expanding and improving the giveaway goodies over time. If that makes it tough to pick a prize, it also makes me feel like I’m doing my job. Don’t forget to pick a prize before the drawing, though. You have to pick a prize and say why you chose that, in order to qualify. You can always change your mind after the drawing, however.
I feel for you, @expat. I’ve been without my uppers for more than a decade now. And my 88-year-old father in law who lives with us just had all of his remaining teeth pulled, and like you is not back on solid food yet.
Thanks, most of the work has been done now. Just waiting for the upper teeth, Tuesday is the day, then have the uppers fitted.
I never wear my denture. Don’t like it. I just get by with no upper teeth. (I still have my lower ones.) I get by fine, but crunchy stuff is off the menu now. I miss eating nuts. Couldn’t do those now, even with the denture in. I used to love dry roasted peanuts, but if you gave me some now, it would be like feeding me gravel. It doesn’t affect my smile, which was never toothy to begin with. Most folks who see me have no clue that I lack upper teeth. It did change the way I enunciate certain words, though.
Noticed you recently got a Gordian sestertius (Giveaway Lot #260121-01). These chunky bronzes are a favorite of mine, so count me in. Nothing better than to warm up by the fireplace with one of these in hand!
