    United States: 1853 copper Braided Hair half cent

    PCGS MS63 BN. Cert. #24740370. CAC verified.

    Numista-24585, Krause-Mishler-70.

    Mintage: 129,694.

    Ex-Heritage Auction #60314, Lot 51008, 10 April 2023.

    The Braided Hair half cent (1840-1857) was the final type for that denomination, since the half cent was discontinued after 1857.

    This is a pleasing brown Mint State example.
