Struck under Wajid Ali Shah 1847-56

The British East India Company allowed him to rule Awadh, but the British really told him what to do. In 1857 Awadh was incorporated into the British East India Company. Later a revolt vs British Rule started when the "sepoys rebelled". This led to a war, and later brutal crackdown, Towards 1858, the British did not takes POWS, just mowed em down. Rebel leaders were later tied to cannons and blown to smithereens by British rulers. In Hindu tradition, a soul will enter hell if not intact, so this helped end the rebellion. Smart move by the British. 8fdcab40e6b7ee0ea9a96d7caaed0edf.jpg Blown_from_cannon_India_detail.jpg

I am watching Barrett-Jackson car auction, I am glad I got my 58 vette. The prices are scary, one sold for 1M.

I have a lawn client who has a 72 Gran Torino coupe. Her husband had it restored in 2015. He went to Heaven. So his wife is selling it for 25K C$. I am tempted to buy it and see what I can get for it later.
