A worn but clean 1826 Bust Half Dollar.
Just over 4 million minted. She’s worn but still pretty. I’ve never met a Bust coin that I didn’t like.

Nice "pocket piece". I'm sure it's seen plenty of cash registers in its day.

She just turned 200. We all should look as good at that age.

I totally agree. They're appealing in any grade. Though lower grade, yours is quite wholesome looking, and it's a Circulation Cameo (CircCam), too!

Here is the current Capped Bust half type coin in my collection. I used to have an AU53, but I like this XF40 better.

I went to FUN this year even tho I mostly collect foreign. I saw (in person) an 1824 "common Overton variety" Bust half that I liked. It was slabbed NGC-63. I bid on it at auction but it ended up going for almost $9K! These things are quite expensive!

I think I'll stick with World Coins for the time being...

Demand is definitely high. And you're right- there's a reason I myself have been a World Coin guy for decades. But I like 18th and 19th century US Type coins.

That was an incredible piece you had your eye on. I am not surprised it went for moon money. But yeah... I dunno about ~$9K! Yikes.

A great old half dollar. All original with nice highlights on the devices and problem free. I love coins that look like yours.

I looked thru all the nice Bust halves in that auction in person with my own light. That 1824, even tho just a 63 was just "WOW". Kinda like this Austrian woman I have my eye on...:D

Hopefully you have better luck with her, and she won’t cost you $9K. ;)
