@Chris B - while a lot of NCLT is tacky, a little bit can be fun. I’ve bought a few when I liked the gimmick.

I buy them occasionally when they speak to me. Yoda spoke to my wife.

The oval coin came in a box that looks like a nesting doll.

Speaking of NCLT, I couldn’t resist this Cook Islands coin.

Like I said, sometimes I fall for the gimmick.

Do you own that? I remember the first time I saw pictures of those crazy things in the Friedberg book.

Yes, but its a later 1840s restrike from original dies. Golden Eagle auction had a 10 Dukat restrike, I could kick myself that I did not bid on it. The MS coin sold for 9800E. Now, with gold price is close too 5K. I remember getting BU Iran 10 Pahlevis for $400US. Today one sold for 12K. People made fun of me all my life for collecting coins, well who is laughing now! Sadly, I think gold will go too 12K or more, that will hamper collecting. Just for fun, I also got a Leopold I AV 30 Dukaten from Graz Mint, restrike from original dies, they produced 10 only back in 1800s. Its the ONLY way average folks can afford those, originals (if any exist) are 6 figures or more.
