On Craigslist in my area a man claims he has 55 Morgan dollars he will sell for $65 each. I am tempted. Any particular dates I should look for (I'm not a Morgan aficionado)
As it stands at the moment you can turn five bucks each right now regardless of the date. I would be a bit more concerned about a few of those Taiwan mint Morgans being scattered about the batch.
Yup, kind of what I thought. I would bring a scale, a magnet and a loupe, but I'm not really that good about picking fakes.
I'm immediately suspicious of anyone who writes "AAA+" on the holders. It's like the "L@@K!!!" stuff in ebay listings. I'm not sure why but it flags them in my mind as someone trying to scam.
Well, $65 is just about melt on Morgans and I've seen many dealers posting and saying they are buying at $62-$65 in recent days. Sounds like he might just be clearing out. Since there's prices on the flips, I bet this guy got hosed a long time back with these clearly cleaned coins and knows it.... Therefore, he is cutting his losses now while the losses are smaller than they were a year ago.
