OK folks, I need a little clarification. Just exactly what does, "Not Genuine, struck copy" mean ? Had some coins graded and one came back with that label, and it's the first time I've come across that term(s). TIA !
This. It's fairly self-explanatory. But yeah, it is a descriptor for something that was copied by striking with dies, as opposed to cast in a mold.
OK thanks, I think I get it. Did some research (wifey said, "Fercryinoutloud, don't be so lazy, look it up. Is that you, mum?) and an eyeopener for sure. Some articles went deep into counterfeits and copies and to the lengths folks will go, especially in light of today's skyrocketing metals prices. Buyer beware !!!
