    Here’s two of my more recent pickups. A 1893-CC and a 1893-O.
The 1893-CC had 677,000 minted. In VF-20 this is easily a $625.00 coin.
    The 1893-O had a mintage of 300,000 but in VF-20 it’s only a $350.00 coin. I have a 1893 and that has a mintage of 378,000 and it’s only $225.00 in the same grade.
I do need a 1893-S but that’s a $5000.00 in the same grade. It has a mintage of 100,000. I do have a dealer looking for one. They just found the 1885-CC so I only need the 1893-S to have them all. It’s in the mail so I should have it by the end of the week.
I do find the mintages and prices a little odd but I’m not sure of the difficulty in locating them. A number of them may have been melted. I didn’t have any problems in locating them but I may have hit it on the nose when I was looking.

I think I just looked at an 1893 S. I think it was $1250? I think it was around the same condition? If I can, I'll go back and look to make sure.

Sounds good. At that price I’d be concerned about it being a counterfeit. It’s the key to the entire series.

I'm probably wrong on the date. I was browsing, looking at several. When I saw the price I just kept on moving because it was out of my price range. But one thing I can be certain on, it won't be counterfeit! I've dealt with this guy for over 25 years and he is beyond careful about that. Like I said, I'm sure I've got the date and mint wrong. I'll try to check tomorrow if I can.

Nice.. i've been looking at a lot of mid grade morgans recently... I've filled most of the cheaper "commons" but my set still only 2/3s done and most of the missings are CCs or harder to find pieces like the 82 o/s or the 87/6 in p and o etc etc :D as for the 93s I have the o.. cc and s both been outta range but will get there someday :D

Some of them are costly but the ‘93-S is the costliest of them all. Best wishes on building your set.

I've picked up a few of the more common dates, too. No where close to as many as you have, but was trying to get one from each year, just to be doing it. I do have the 82 o/s, but it was harshly cleaned or I couldn't have afforded it. 20250502_102627.jpg 20250502_102635.jpg 20250502_102715.jpg

There are a number of varieties with Morgan’s with minting, not to mention all of the Vam’s due to die cracks and the like. The 1882-O over S is in the Red Book.

Ok, as usual, I was wrong. It was an 1894 P for $1295. Sorry about that. Hope you find one soon.

Thanks for checking. I didn’t think it could be a 1993-S at that price. They start at about $3000, if you can find one. One of my dealers is on the lookout for me. He just had a customer sell him a 1885-CC Morgan. Another expensive piece but not near as bad as the ‘93. He thinks the same guy has a ‘93-S and if he gets it, it’s mine.
I really appreciate your checking. :):)
