A possible error please help

  1. Okay so I have a Bicentennial half dollar with three letters missing in part of the last L of the word hall it doesn't seem to be wearing & tear but I'm not sure can someone please help

    Without photos, I can only guess that it is the result of a grease-filled die. These are very common for all denominations and not worth a premium.

    From what you are saying, it sounds like a grease filled die. A bit common.

    After clicking on "Upload a File", select the image you want to upload and be sure to click on "Full Image" not "Thumbnail".

    As I suspected, the letters are missing because of a grease-filled die. Grease and debris can accumulate in the recesses of the die, and eventually it will make it look like there is no letter at all.
