1941 Jefferson Nickel

okay so I found this nickel in the cash register at my job. Now I'm pretty sure I see a "s" in a place where it shouldn't be.. but it may be my eyes playing tricks on me. So as a newbie I'm wondering if this may be a error or just my eyes playing tricks

Where, exactly, do you see this S?

 

At the end of CENTS, in STATES and PLURIBUS

 

Again I'm new to this and just trying to learn more

 

By Golly that does look like an "S"

 

I see it too, could be dropped lettering, closeups needed ....

 

That's what I thought too. Like I've been staring at about 3 different nickels. And none of the writing on the 41 looks normal.

 

Though this is going to make me look stupid as hell. But what exactly does that mean?
