  3. Nice Morgan dollar! Not sure about those 8's in the 1818 half...date seems funky to me. Your photos are quite good. Thanks for sharing. TC

You need to post your images full if you want the members to give you their opinions .

It doesn't look fake but rather damaged/repaired or improperly cleaned to me.

  10. I agree the Bust looks funny, so how do I figure out if it is altered or not? When I try to upload it full size the file is too large. so how do I post the full size?

You guys have GOT to stop. It's not usually you at all Mike, but there's a pattern emerging where someone cries "FAKE" in every thread. The 1818 bust half had a ton of die varieties, and this is a common one. It's real, F15, and totally original.

    Come on... it's genuine. Guaranteed.

  13. I never said it was fake. I said the date looked funky. The coin looks like someone took a putty knife to it. It could in fact be legit, but I don't think any expert would ever guarantee a coin as genuine from pics alone, especially without knowing the source.

OP: Take the half to a local coin dealer or to a coin show and let an expert take a look at it in hand.

    Either altered or fake altogether.
