1944-P Lincoln Wheat Cent - Rolled Rim

    Hi, this cent is very heavy and has an odd rim around it. I tilted it up and looked under the microscope and the letters are rolled up under the rim so it was not added manually to the cent. Thoughts?

    Appears to be a "dryer coin" , one that got caught in the wash and rolled around quite a bit. Usually the edges are smoother, but damage .

    Is that a real error/variety or is the new guy getting messed with? :)

    I came across "finned" cents the other day and wondered about that also.

    So much to learn, so little grey matter...

    It's my guess that it was "spooned" and then thrown back into circulation.

    Same thinf happens to all coins especially your Cent
