Im sure of yall are probably tired of me posting so much but I can't tell the difference between MD, DD , WD. . So here I hope again, just categorize me as DA( DUMB ***)
Hey Mike, speaking for myself I appreciate others posting these because it helps to improve my knowledge and understanding as well - I look like a DA more often than not myself!
Actually, couldn't it be DD? I would think that, if it were MD, the 3 would be involved as well, since the die was moving in the chuck/holder.
Always take a look at Wexler's and compare. Here is the link to the 1935 Philly obverse. https://doubleddie.com/377701.html
I do think that the 3 and 5 probably showed some evidence earlier in its life. MD is not always in one direction and on the entire face of the coin. It can be isolated and only affect one device. One letter one MM etc. Error reference has a good read on the 3-4 main forms of MD. It's a good read. https://www.error-ref.com/?s=Mechanical+doubling
